OFFICIAL BIOGRAPHY of Thomas Schelesny
VFX SUPERVISOR | ANIMATOR | WRITER | DIRECTOR
Thomas Schelesny is an Emmy-winning VFX Supervisor, Animator, Writer/Director and filmmaker.
In a VFX career spanning over two decades, Thomas has worked at both the vendor and production level, leading projects from preproduction through post. He is also a member of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.
Thomas spent 14-years working with multi-Academy Award-winner Phil Tippett, during which, he became known for applying his animation expertise on-set choreographing complex performances; marrying actors, practical floor effects, and CG elements.
Following the critical and creative success of ‘Enchanted’, Disney enlisted Thomas as Director for the trailer for ‘Beverly Hills Chihuahua’. The entire piece was uniquely conceived as a contemporary “Busby Berkeley” song-and-dance number involving dozens of live and CG animals.
Furthering his passion for narrative storytelling, Thomas co-wrote several screenplays including ‘A Better Place’; which was named as a Top-10 Screenplay of the year on Done Deal Pro.
After directing the short film ‘Last Exit’, Thomas commenced work on the ‘Game of Thrones’, for which he won an HPA Award, VES Award, and the Emmy Award for Outstanding Visual Effects.
